Deploying Twocanoes License and Settings Configuration Profiles in Jamf Pro

If you have a configuration profile that contains a software license from Twocanoes Software, or you have a configuration profile for settings for a Twocanoes app from an external app like Imazing Profile Editor or ProfileCreator, you can use Jamf Pro to deploy the configuration profile.

Uploading a New License

1. In Jamf Pro, select Computers->Configuration Profiles->Upload. Don’t use the New Workflow. Upload the provided signed profile without manually editing the domain or payload.

2. Choose the configuration profile and upload.

3. After the profile is uploaded, click Save.

4. Scope the configuration profile for the Macs to get this setting.

Updating a Current License

To update your current license, you will need to unsign the license before uploading. Users cannot have two of the same signed profiles. You will receive the following error if you try to upload the same signed profile.

1. Remove the signature from your new license profile.
   • Open Terminal
   • Run the following command in terminal, assuming the license is named “license.mobileconfig” and is on the current user’s desktop:
     
     security cms -D -i ~/Desktop/license.mobileconfig
     
     
   • This command will output the profile without a signature. To save the output to a file that is unsigned, run the following command. This will save the unsigned profile to a file called “license_unsigned.mobileconfig” on the current user’s desktop:
     
     security cms -D -i ~/Desktop/license.mobileconfig > ~/Desktop/license_unsigned.mobileconfig
     
     
   • The file “license_unsigned.mobileconfig” is now unsigned.
2. In Jamf Pro, go to Computers->Configuration Profiles->Upload.
3. Choose the unsigned license profile and select Upload.
4. After the profile is uploaded, click Save.
