Emerging Issue for DFU Blaster on Tahoe
We are currently tracking stability issues with DFU Blaster on Tahoe. The follow symptoms can be observed:
- Macs not showing up in DFU Blaster / Apple Configurator after putting into DFU mode
- Devices failing to restore
- Devices not recognized when plugged into a hub
We have had reports of this affecting users with Acroname hubs, but this issue may affect other hubs as well. The issue appears to be due to changes in the USB stack in Tahoe. We have escalated the issue and Apple is aware of this.
Workaround
We do not recommend upgrading to Tahoe at this time for Macs running DFU Blaster Pro. Devices can still be restored with Tahoe by updating the Mobile Device Framework. We will continue testing updates to Tahoe and will update this article as new information becomes available.
