We back up our macOS installations all the time, so why not do the same for Boot Camp Windows installations? Winclone is a tool that makes Boot Camp backups super-easy. Depending on why or how you use Windows on your Mac, having a backup image can save a significant amount of time when it comes to reinstalling Windows.

14 go-to tools for Mac sysadmins
“This is the only tool I refer to when I’m looking at Boot Camp images. What you can do is take a Sysprep Windows hard drive, and you can basically pull an image from that, package that up, drop it into your JSS [JAMF Software Server], and create your NetBoot image. It is literally as simple as one, two, three, four”
Bleu Station Starter Kit Provides In-Store Beacon Technology

Will Beacons Change the Customer-Grocer Relationship?
As grocers deploy beacons and communicate with customers in new ways, it’s critical to focus on creating value for the customer rather than promoting certain items or brands. A random promotion is nowhere near as valuable as discounts on items a customer put on that day’s shopping list or buys regularly. And too many messages about items not of interest may cause customers to uninstall the store app, cutting off that mutually beneficial communication conduit.

iBeacon Design Paradigms: TabViews and Cards
How do you present content on an app that interacts with Bluetooth LE or iBeacons? In most demos, the apps generally present a new view when the user comes within range of specific beacons. Think of this approach as the “pop up window” for a world of beacons.
But we’re always interested in new ways to design the user experience.
Twocanoes has given us an example, with a demo app available on GitHub that uses a TabViewController as the central paradigm. As you move from one beacon (or “station”) to the next, the app flips through the tabs.
Maintaining a Boot Camp partition when upgrading the Mac OS
Once you have Winclone you simply create an image of your Boot Camp partition and tuck it away on another drive. If you then update Mac OS and find that the Boot Camp partition is no longer available you can create a new Boot Camp partition and restore your Winclone image to it.
iBeacon Hardware: Bleu Station Gets You Started with Bluetooth LE and iOS Support
Want to get started with iBeacons but don’t know where to start? Have a look at Bleu Station dongles, tiny little Bluetooth LE beacons that you can use at home, the store or even the office.
Recently launched by Two Canoes they’re positioned for large-scale enterprise deployment, but also for a small retail store or even for use at home. They have a great little ecosystem of apps and products: an iOS app that helps you set your beacon up and configure its ID, name and other identifiers; and Geohopper, which lets you push messages out through your beacon.
