iBeacon Design Paradigms: TabViews and Cards

How do you present content on an app that interacts with Bluetooth LE or iBeacons? In most demos, the apps generally present a new view when the user comes within range of specific beacons. Think of this approach as the “pop up window” for a world of beacons.

But we’re always interested in new ways to design the user experience.

Twocanoes has given us an example, with a demo app available on GitHub that uses a TabViewController as the central paradigm. As you move from one beacon (or “station”) to the next, the app flips through the tabs.

Maintaining a Boot Camp partition when upgrading the Mac OS

Once you have Winclone you simply create an image of your Boot Camp partition and tuck it away on another drive. If you then update Mac OS and find that the Boot Camp partition is no longer available you can create a new Boot Camp partition and restore your Winclone image to it.

Want to get started with iBeacons but don’t know where to start? Have a look at Bleu Station dongles, tiny little Bluetooth LE beacons that you can use at home, the store or even the office.

Recently launched by Two Canoes they’re positioned for large-scale enterprise deployment, but also for a small retail store or even for use at home.
