Automatically unlock FileVault and enable a passwordless experience on macOS

Password Utility makes it simple to unlock FileVault automatically after a restart or power failure. The Mac system will immediately be available on the network. Without Password Utility, a FileVault-enabled Mac would require a user to log in to unlock FileVault and fully boot the Mac system. Automatically unlocking FileVault means that the Mac systems are available for MDM management, remote access, or other management activities.

Password Utility is used with Touch ID to make the user’s local password available as needed. Since the user never has to type the password, it can be very complex and secure. Entering the local password is as easy as pressing a few keys, authenticating with Touch ID and then pasting in the password.
Password Utility makes enabling Touch ID for sudo simple. Instead of complicated commands, Password Utility makes it a simple setting. Instead of entering a password when running a command as administrator, simply use Touch ID to authenticate, making the process simple and easy.

Password Utility displays users’ secure tokens and volume ownership status. If a user does not have a secure token or volume ownership, it causes issues with unlocking FileVault and software updates. Password Utility makes it easy to see the secure token and volume owner status.
Password Utility can be used with Smart Card pairing built into macOS to make logging into macOS passwordless. When using a USB Smart Card key such as the FEITIAN ePass FIDO2-NFC Plus USB-A Security Key with PIV, logging in to a Mac is as simple as plugging in the key and entering a PIN.
