What's New?

Apple introduced a new security feature in El Capitan, System Integrity Protection (SIP), that protects system files and processes from malicious compromise. Restoring a Winclone image to pre-2013 Macs and Windows 7 Boot Camp are affected and SIP must be disabled. Newer Macs running Windows 8 or above are fully compatible with SIP.

We've also posted about SIP on the Twocanoes Blog: How El Capitan Boot Camp is affected by Apple's new System Integrity Protection (SIP).

Also new in El Capitan is the the way Boot Camp Assistant handles installation of Windows. On the latest MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, Boot Camp Assistant in El Capitan creates a temporary partition to store the Windows installer.
