Starting with Winclone 7, the options to shrink or expand a Boot Camp partition only show up when block-based imaging has been selected. Shrinking is not required for file-based (WIM) imaging. File-based imaging does not image the filesystem; it makes a snapshot of all the files and associated metadata.

If block-based imaging is required, enable it Winclone preferences. Once Block-based imaging is enabled, the Shrink and Restore options will become available in the Tools menu in Winclone.

Block-based imaging is faster on physical hard drives but the image cannot be restored to a drive that has a different physical block size. File-based imaging does not have the block-size limitation.
