Smart Card Utility enables smart card authentication to supported websites via Safari. No changes in the backend, websites, or cards: just plug in your existing PIV-enabled smart card and log in!

The version 4.9 update brings the following new changes (build 6469):

Version 4.9

  • Added support for PKCS15 smart cards
  • Added support for ECA / CACv2 smart cards
  • Added additional probing and options to submit results to Twocanoes when an unrecognized card is detected. This will help us support different card types in the future
  • Added long press on certificate to test signing
  • UI Tweaks

Notes: Due to an issue with the built-in Apple driver, support for PKCS15 card signing does not work with readers not purchased from Twocanoes Software, Inc. The issue has been escalated with Apple (FB16105658).
