Use an Extension Cable with the USB-C Reader
Smart Card Utility USB-C readers can be used with most basic USB-C extension cables. However, most cables are unidirectional and will only work in the correct configuration. If the reader does not light up when you plug it in, try rotating the cable and trying again.
