Import WinPE
Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE) is a minimal version of Windows used for deploying a full-featured Windows installation. A common workflow is to boot WinPE from a USB drive and image from System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
Using WinPE with Winclone allows you to create a local partition with a WinPE boot partition, instead of needing to insert a USB drive in all machines.
WinPE files are created using Deployment Workbench from Microsoft Development Toolkit. For more information on creating the WinPE files, see Deploying Boot Camp Using WinPE and MDT
Once you have your WinPE files, follow the steps below to create a Winclone image.
- Choose
Tools -> Create Winclone Image
from the WinPE Folder. - Click
Select Folder
. - Select the WinPE folder created with Deployment Workbench.
- Click
Save Image
, then choose the destination for your new Winclone image.
You now have a standard Winclone image which can be restored using the “Restore Image” feature of Winclone. You may also create a package deployment for further customization and integration into your deployment environment.
