Using XCreds with Active Directory
XCreds can be configured to work with Active Directory by setting the preference key called ADDomain
. More information on setting XCreds preference keys can be found in the admin guide. This key should be set to the domain where the Active Directory server can be reached. Once configured, go to the XCreds sign-in screen and click the button at the bottom for Switch Login Window
. This will go to the local sign-in screen where a user name and password can be entered. When the ADDomain
preference key has been set, a user can enter a user name and password for an account that exists on the AD server. Once authentication is verified by the AD server, XCreds will create a new user account in macOS that corresponds to this user and allow the user to sign in.
